Packing Lunch is Easier Than You Think

Posted on June 26th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

Packing lunch is really quite a task. You have to make sure that everything’s packed properly so that nothing spills. You also have to check if everything was packed and if you’ve packed enough for everyone. Plus, you also want to make sure that the food is packed well enough to withstand the long drive. Of course, there are things that we want to keep warm like pasta sauces or bread or even soup. Then there are things that we want to keep cool like wine, ice, or salads. It’s always a problem if you did not anticipate that there will be no way to heat you food or cool the wine. It can get really frustrating and the relaxing getaway will just end up being a frustrating weekend.

tn 614 00 Packing Lunch is Easier Than You ThinkFood is a big factor in the success of any picnic or even a trip to the beach. Aside from the fact that you can relax while on a holiday, you may also want to savor food that you normally wouldn’t be able to eat at your workplace. The Activo waterproof tote can help you with all your worries. It is insulated so that warm food stays warm and cold food is kept cold until the time you need to consume them. In addition, this lunch bag is also waterproof. Which means you can take these picnic totes to a hike near the lake or to the beach and you can be assured that everything inside stays dry even if the outside gets a bit soaked.

The Perfect Getaway Partner

Posted on June 25th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

Many people love reading books. These days even this simple pleasure has become a thing of the past with e-books, audio books and other digital age versions. Others prefer it that way. I guess because it is quite difficult to squeeze in time for reading. That is why some people just get audio books, put these in their mp3 players or burn them in CDs and play it while driving or even when they’re working out at the gym.

tn 138 The Perfect Getaway PartnerBut there will be purists who still love holding the book in their hand, turning the pages, smelling the print from the pages, and just reading the book in its natural form – paper. People like these could spend hours and hours just lounging around and reading a book. They will also usually love the beach. A perfect getaway for them is going to the beach with the most recent book they’ve purchased and just relaxing over a cup of coffee.

For people like these, the coffee and blanket tote is their partner for the ideal getaway. They can just take the flask, fill it with their favorite coffee (which will remain hot for a long time), put it in the lunch bag with the blanket and their book then off to the beach they’ll go for a picnic for one. It’s so easy to pack these three things to take to the beach. Best of all, the picnic tote also looks nice and elegant and goes well with any outfit. If that ain’t the perfect getaway partner, then there might not be one existing!

Pack It In

Posted on June 24th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

tn 066SC Pack It InKids love going out outdoors. The trouble is, parents want to go outdoors to catch a little sun, but kids can be hard to manage sometimes. Many kids love going out for a picnic on Sundays that is why you should make it your Sunday habit to pack lunch and have picnic at a park somewhere. Better to have a checklist of everything that is needed on a picnic because it’s so easy to forget things like plates and cups because they are minor details when you want to do a picnic for four. Not to mention you have to make sure that you’ve packed everything that the kids will need.

Another problem you might have is organizing everything and putting everything in one handy bag. There’s always the picnic basket but sometimes it can be too bulky and difficult to carry around. The Santa Cruz picnic backpack cooler for four will be a good solution to this packing problem.

The picnic backpack contains an insulated wine holder, & removable waterproof liner for Thermal Shield™ cool compartment, which is ideal for keeping drinks cool during the drive from the house to the park. It also includes combination corkscrew, hardwood cutting board with juice groovse, cheese knife, wooden salt & pepper shakers with non spill tops, acrylic wine glasses, coordinating melamine plates, stainless steel flatware and cotton napkins, which are all we need to get settled in the picnic area. Everything’s in one place and everything’s organized. No need to worry about leaving anything behind.

Nothing Beats Quality Time

Posted on June 21st, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

Times spent with family are really precious. Today’s fast paced life has really taken away those simple moments when a family would have dinner together, talk about what happened during their day and update each one of what’s going on in school or in the office. These moments have been replaced with video games and movies and cold dinners. It’s really quite a rare occasion when family members get together just to have a meal.

That is why in most families, family members need to make a commitment to spend at least one day a month to get together for a picnic or a barbecue. They try to do it outdoors so that they are taken out of their comfort zones, away from television or internet access. They prepare the food and pack them in picnic backpacks. Food prepared by them, which also serves as bonding time for parents and children. During these Sunday picnics, there are times when it’s really difficult to get a table at the park. Sometimes families need an extra table to put their belongings on or other food that won’t fit in the picnic table.

tn 246 Nothing Beats Quality TimeWith this situation, a folding wooden picnic table will be extremely helpful. It provides extra storage space for all the things everyone has brought for the picnic. It’s very handy because it can be folded up, put in the trunk then put other things on top of it. There’s no need to worry about running out of space for other stuff.

Organizing picnics is a lot of work. But there is no price tag to the bond that families have when they spend quality time together.

A Day at the Beach

Posted on June 20th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

A day by the beach can be a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a day off. If you are a couple or if you are a family, everyone can enjoy a day at the beach. Sometimes its hard for people to get to the beach as they live so far tn 802 00 A Day at the Beachaway so it can be a real treat going to the beach, for others they can live practically next to the beach so spending a day there seems second nature. There are plenty of things to do on the beach other than sunbathe. If you are going with a group of people you can try playing a game. Volley ball, football or even bat and ball can get you moving and enjoying the sun. If you aren’t into team sports then why not try a nice long walk down the beach? You can leisurely stroll across the sand and not have to worry about being back for anything. You could always go in the water too. You could have a swim or simply wet your feet! When out on your day at the beach don’t forget food and water. You could grab yourself a burger or you could take your own picnic basket. This is a cheaper alternative to lunch but is also a very social occasion. You can grab a couple of folding chairs, a picnic basket full of food and you’re ready to go! Why not try a Beachcomber Beach mat to sit on? They fold up very small so won’t even take much room up in the boot! Have a great day out!

A Light Lunch Keeps One Fit

Posted on June 19th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

Hiking and walking are great forms of exercise. They are also cheap ways to get out and about. All you do is pop tn 528 30 A Light Lunch Keeps One Fityour boots on, grab some lunch and go. It really is that simple. But what do you need to know before you embark on a hike?

Hiking uses a lot of muscles, especially in your legs. Whether you take it nice and gently or you rush up the hill you need to stretch your muscles out first. This will help you move around better but will also help you out the next day when you can’t get out of bed! Make sure you wear comfortable footwear. Sometimes a pair of boots will be comfortable for half an hour but start to rub after that. Make sure you do a trial run with your boots because the last thing you want is to be stuck up a hill with no shoes on! If you don’t have time to try out a pair of shoes then take some band aids with you  just in case. Make sure you take lots of layers with you. As you exercise you may get warmer and need to take a layer off. It is always handy to have a jumper or sweatshirt for when you come to cool down after your walk. Keep hydrated and always remember to keep your energy levels up. A great way to do this would be to take a picnic basket or a picnic backpack for when you have finished. You can also buy picnic backpacks that you can carry around with you. The Avalon picnic backpack for 2 will let you take your lunch with you so you can stop half way! Enjoy your hike!

The Ultimate Party Tub Brings Precious Bonding Time

Posted on June 12th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

My husband was so relieved when my son went off to college. It wasn’t that he didn’t want him around, he was just pleased to see him gone! My son and my husband hadn’t been getting on terribly well lately because they were so alike. They had the same drive and determination and unfortunately the same stubbornness! So when it came for my son to leave it was a little of a relief. My son would have his own freedom that he craved so much, my husband would no longer have to fight with him all the time and I would get to enjoy a peaceful house once again. Although he was pleased to see the back of him, my husband started to miss my son and soon wanted to visit him. I told him we couldn’t go empty handed and should buy him something practical. We started looking around the shops and online to see what we could find and then we found it, the perfect practical gift for any college student! The party tub insulated cooler. It would be ideal for them to keep their drinks cool outside doing, well, whatever it is that college students do on hot sunny days (I dread to think but I have seen the movies). What more could they want than an outdoor cooler? It could even double up as a picnic basket.

tn 394 The Ultimate Party Tub Brings Precious Bonding TimeWhen we did finally get to give my son his present he was very grateful but we didn’t get to chat for long as he was getting on my husband’s nerves again. Boys eh, will they ever learn?

Who’s Evil Now?

Posted on June 11th, 2009 by admin  |  1 Comment »

I don’t know much about my Aunt Sue. In fact there is only one thing I remember about her from my childhood and that is how she always had a glass of wine in her hand. It didn’t seem to matter what time of day it was she was always glugging down a glass or two. So when my Mom informed me that we were invited to her birthday party I wasn’t exactly thrilled about going. What was I going to buy her? I didn’t think a picnic basket would be appropriate. What would I have to talk to her about? I told my husband about my feelings towards my aunt and he suggested that maybe a tongue-in-cheek present might be a good idea. I looked online for wine accessories and found the perfect one. The celebration wine set had a corkscrew, wine stopper and most importantly it was cheap! PBg3A 004 Whos Evil Now?

The day came when it was my aunt’s party and we begrudgingly started making the long journey to see her. All the way down I was recalling the memories I had of her and how she used to be a total battle axe. When we arrived she was exactly as I remembered. She even had the glass of wine in her hand. She said thank you for her present but I could tell she thought it was a dig. As I worked the room I found out that my aunt had been sober for 15 years! It was the death of her husband that turned her back to drink. Now I felt really bad about the gift….. OK not THAT bad.
