Chocolate Gourmet for the Win

Posted on August 12th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

tn 81061 01 Chocolate Gourmet for the WinWhenever we hear the tunes played by the ice cream cart, we all rush out to call him and buy our favorite frozen delights. When the Girl Scouts knock on our doors or ring our doorbells, we greet them and buy at least a box of cookies. We all have a sweet tooth and we’re always ready to satisfy our cravings.

Needless to say, chocolate is one of the most loved comfort food the world over. It comes from the seed of a tropical fruit called cacao which is cultivated mostly in Mexico, Central and South America.

The seed of cacao is fermented and dried. After which, it will be cleaned and roasted; much like what is done to coffee beans. The roasted seeds of the cacao are grinded and liquefied and the outcome would then be voila! Pure chocolate in fluid form or chocolate liquor! It is now ready for processing into cocoa solids and cocoa butter. The purer the cocoa solids, the darker the chocolate will become.

White chocolate, on the other hand, isn’t really chocolate. That’s why it’s not as addicting as milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Instead, white chocolate is made of cocoa butter, milk and condensed milk.

There are a lot of variants of chocolate nowadays but the most popular is the milk chocolate which is not too bitter and not too sweet. Perfectly right for a simple crave.

If you can’t think of anything to give out during special occasions, why not give out gourmet gift baskets? If you can’t think of anything to lay down on the picnic table, get a very extraordinary picnic basket, bring a chocolate gourmet basket filled with your friends’ favorite chocolates and it will surely be appreciated.

Cool Wine on a Picnic Date

Posted on August 8th, 2009 by admin  |  No Comments »

tn 133BH Cool Wine on a Picnic DateWine is an alcoholic drink associated with the rich and famous. It is made of grape juice that has been fermented for years and is served in all occasions, may it be birthdays, weddings, anniversary or any type of party. Most of the time, it is even considered as the beer of rich people.

There are several different species of grapes used as the main ingredient for wine. Among these is the vitis vinifera, the one used in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.

A lot of people collect memorabilia of the things they love. Such includes jewelry, shoes, clothes and for some others, wine bottles. The more it ages, the greater it tastes, so they say. For those who collect wine, they usually have wine cellars with right temperature to suit the bottled wines’ taste. That is why opening an aged bottle of wine is always a heartbreak at the same time a relief for the owners.

Wine is always in the picture when a man proposes to his sweetheart. Sometimes, the ring itself is placed onto the bottle or submerged in the glass. But for normal situations, the couple would just end the date with a toast.

To make it more exciting some people chooses to propose during a picnic, right at the picnic table. This is made possible by bringing wine totes and insulated picnic basket filled with food along with them.

The Bahamas sunset wine cooler is very useful during these occasions. Your sweetheart would really appreciate your effort in asking her to marry you the most creative way. You might even get a yes for all we know.

Freshly Roasted Coffee for a Memorable Picnic

tn 138 Freshly Roasted Coffee for a Memorable PicnicGoing on picnics and setting a picnic table is comfortable if you have coffee totes with you. Coffee and blanket tote might be a great idea for backpacking to the woods. We always love coffee while resting and relaxing. It’s even easier now because you can drink hot coffee anywhere thanks to insulated totes – sort of like a picnic basket, only they are for coffee.

There are a lot of species of coffee: Liberica, Excelsa, Stenophylla, Mauritiana, Racemosa and the most well-known and widely use species which are Robusta and Arabica. We use coffee for everything—from cakes to breads. There are even findings that coffee grinds could be used as fertilizers. Don’t put too much though or your plant might die. Just sprinkle it onto the soil near your plant and make your own research about it.

Another interesting thing about coffee is that there are different levels of roasting coffee beans—from light to French roast. It varies depending on your taste. As you roast, the flavor tends to be sweeter and sweeter, but overdoing it can make it taste like burnt charcoal. Once the coffee beans dry up after roasting and have small cracks on it, that can only mean your beans have been roasted light to medium. If your beans seem shiny, you have a full roast. If your coffee beans are shiny and oily, you have a double roast, which is also known as the French roast.

The French roast is the less popular level of roasting. It’s a little smokey yet sweet—a very intense flavor. In the United States, the most popular levels of roasting are light up to a full roast.

Goodbye Cold Coffee!

tn 603 27 305 Goodbye Cold Coffee! The caffeine content of coffee has a stimulating effect on us. That’s the same reason why alcoholics and non-alcoholics love drinking a cup of coffee every now and then. It’s great during mornings whenever you need to get your system perked up for the day ahead. Whether you’re going to work or just bouncing around the block, a hot black coffee can wake you up. You can even have coffee late at night. When you need to rush projects or paper works, a mug or two of hot coffee easily becomes your best friend.

The most famous drink today is coffee. Whether it’s instant or brewed, we all like getting a mug a day. There are different variants of coffee drinks nowadays—from ice coffee, to latte, frap to black. We all have a coffee of choice and since there are cafĂ©’s in every corner, we have access to it easily.

If you love sweets, try eating them with a mug of coffee at the side. Here’s a tip regarding your coffee and pastry experience: Don’t get a sweet coffee. Get a black one if you are to pair it with pastries. Drinking sweet coffee while eating sweets can lessen the sweetness of both. So you see, it defeats the purpose of drinking coffee with pastries.

Coffee totes are the in thing right now. We even bring it to occasional picnics and lay them on the picnic table together with the meal. Insulated caffeccino totes are the most convenient picnic backpacks for coffee today. You can let your local coffee house of choice fill it with hot fresh brewed coffee and you can bring it everywhere without the risk of getting your coffee dead cold.
